
This lecture by Dr. John McDonagh, senior lecturer in the Department of English Language and Literature at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, will take a look at Brendan Kennelly’s enormously important contribution to the development of contemporary Irish poetry. It will explore his major themes, from the importance of place and family in the formation of personal identity to the role of history and ideology in the construction of national identity.
